FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Season's Greetings, friends!
Q: What is this project? A: This is a labor of love, borne out of something small. Sound designer Christopher Colucci and actor/musician Charlie DelMarcelle are friends. For years, they would get together during the holiday season, choose a song, make a little video of them playing it and then share it online with friends, for no reason other than making music with your friends is fun. Since 2014, we have invited other members of the community to participate in the making of these holiday music videos. You can see our previous videos here. Q: What is the purpose of this project? A: To celebrate and showcase the theater and arts community in Philadelphia by joining together, making a thing, and sharing it with each other and with the world. Q: Who is allowed to participate? A: Everyone who has a connection to the theater and arts community in Philadelphia. That's you, donors and theatre critics and audience members and technicians and stagehands and designers and stage managers and actors and choreographers and dancers and musicians and props masters and managing directors and box office employees and theatre students and theatre educators and social media coordinators and directors and venue managers and ushers and everyone else who makes art in Philadelphia. That's you! Q: Where and when is this happening? A: We're videotaping at the Ruba Club again this year (416 Green Street) on Monday, December 10th at 6:30pm. Parking in that area can be tricky, so please plan your transportation needs ahead of time. We'll share a meal together from 6:30 - 9:00pm. Q: What should I bring? A: This year, we are sharing a potluck dinner together! Please bring a dish to share, and let us know ahead of time if there are any dietary needs or restrictions that we should be aware of (ie: creating an allergen-safe area, etc). Q: Can my kids come? A: The best part of making these videos is getting to hang out with your kids. Yes! Q: But really. I don't know you. Can I come, or is that weird? A: The hardest part of our job is getting the word out to people that we don't already know. Everyone is welcome. We can't wait to meet you! Q: What should I wear? Whatever your heart desires.... with one important condition. We ask that you stay away from highly visibly brands, logos, images, and phrases, including plugs for your own projects or theatre companies. Solid colors, patterns, and wintery attire is awesome. Q: But WAIT! What are we even DOING?! Do I have to sing?!? A: You literally just come and share a meal with friends. That's it! Our incredible video designer Jorge Cousineau will edit the footage and add music after the event during post-production. Q: Can I tell my friends? A: Yes! Please do. Please invite friends, colleagues, and loved ones to participate. It's hard to get the word out, so we want to make sure everyone knows that all are welcome. We just ask that they also RSVP (again, that's [email protected]) so that we know how many people to expect. Q: I've got a question that isn't answered here. What should I do? A: You should email us at [email protected]. We'll do our best to answer your question to the best of our abilities. We can't wait to see you! |
